How do I know if my instrument needs a service?​
​You should book a service if:

Your guitar feels uncomfortable or harder to play than it should

You’re experiencing fret buzz or high/low action

Notes don’t intonate correctly up the neck

You’ve changed string gauge or tuning

The instrument hasn’t been serviced in a long time

Nothing is broken, but it just doesn’t feel “right”

Electronics are crackling, cutting out, or not working

What are your opening hours?
We don’t operate with standard opening hours, as we are a booking-only workshop. All services must be scheduled online — we do not accept walk-ins. Once you book, we’ll confirm your drop-off time and make sure your instrument is ready when you arrive.
How do I book my instrument in for a service?
All services must be booked online via the booking portal on our website. Online bookings are essential — we do not accept walk-ins.

How long will my setup or repair take?
Most standard setups are completed within 1–3 business days from drop-off. Turnaround times may vary depending on workload, parts availability, and the complexity of the work. A more accurate timeframe will be confirmed when you book.​​​

How much will my setup or repair cost?
Please refer to the Pricing & Details page for starting prices. A more accurate quote will be provided once your instrument has been assessed. We’ll always contact you for approval before proceeding with any significant additional costs.

Who will be working on my instrument?
Your guitar will be serviced by Nick Elliott, owner of Elliott’s Guitars, with over 10 years of experience in professional guitar setups and repairs. Learn more about Nick.

Where do I drop off my instrument?
Our workshop is located at Unit 1/31–33 Montague St, North Wollongong, upstairs from Crystal Bears/SLM Music School. Full drop-off details will be provided after booking id confirmed.
I was notified my repair is complete. How do I book my pick-up?
Please use the link in your notification or click here to book a pick-up. Please do not arrive before confirmation that the work is complete and/or without a booking.

I need to change or cancel my booking. How do I do this?
You can change your booking via your account. Changes are accepted up to 24 hours before the booking. Please contact us if you are have issues changing your booking.

What if I just want a re-string?
Restrings can generally be completed on the spot. A booking is still required.

What if I'm bring in more than one instrument?
That’s no problem. Please list each instrument and the service or issue required for each in the booking form. There’s no need to make multiple bookings.​

What instruments do you service?
We service electric guitars, acoustic guitars, bass guitars, and other common stringed instruments. If you’re unsure whether we can work on your instrument, feel free to get in touch before booking.
What sort of repairs do you do?
Our primary focus is setups and general servicing. We can carry out many common repairs, including electronics faults, hardware issues, and neck adjustments. We do not currently repair broken headstocks, lifted bridges or re-frets. If you’re unsure whether your repair is suitable, please email or call us to discuss before booking.
Do you repair or service amplifiers or pedals?
No, we don't do any amplifier or effects pedal repairs. We recommend Elk Elektronik and/or Berry Pedals for these services.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard and EFTPOS. Payment is required once work is complete at time of collection.
Do you offer any kind of guarantee?
Yes. If you’re not happy with your setup, you can return your instrument within 7 days for complimentary adjustments. If it’s still not right, we’ll refund the service cost (excluding parts and strings). Read more about our satisfaction guarantee here.
Can I just drop in to ask questions?
We don’t accept walk-ins for servicing, but you’re welcome to email or call us if you have questions before booking via the Contact Us tab!
